Abermule Community Centre Strength in Community

An appeal regarding "Trick or Treating" for 2020

Volunteers involved in our Community outreach project have received several concerns regarding the tradition of "Trick or Treat" in Abermule this year.

We have many vulnerable members in our Community who are anxious about the practice and the potential consequences relating to the spread of COVID-19.

It understandable that maintaining our community traditions and celebrations are important especially at the hardest of times, however, this year "Trick or Treating" does not appear to be in the benefit of our Community. Iit is certainly causing members of our Community to worry. It is with consideration to this I would ask Members of Abermule not to trick or treat this year.

As trick or treating is generally done for the benefit of the younger members of our community, instead of sweets. Please think of a small donation to Abermule CP School or Abermule Busy Bees Childcare, who have done an amazing job in helping our children celebrate their birthdays and other seasonal/annual events safely at school with their friends and peers in class "bubble".

Abermule Community Centre will also look into running a safe virtual event this year as it would be inappropriate to run our Abermule Ghoul competition this year.

Kind Regards
