Advice and Guidance for Affiliated Groups Holding CarBoot Sales

Abermule Community Centre
CAR BOOT SALES

To all affiliated Societies who have booked a Car Boot Sale :
Please find attached the list of dates for this season. These have been agreed by your representatives at the February ACCA meeting , and represent your firm intention to manage the car boot sale on that day in respect of car park stewarding and catering in the kitchen. Any society not fulfilling all the management duties will not be considered for a car boot next year. Remember – this is a major source of income for your society – the better you run it, the more money you can make (dependent on the weather!)
You need 6 car parking stewards, with at least 2 of them to be at the Centre by 6 a.m. The busiest period is between 7.30 and 11 a.m. Additional stewards will be needed on the road on busy days.
You need 6 staff to cater in the kitchen, help clean up afterwards and check the field for cups etc.
I enclose a form to indicate the names of the stewards.
At around 8.30a.m., the society’s representatives should collect the fees from booters £6 or £11. (Receipt books are provided) 50% of this money is kept, 50% goes into the pool and should be paid to Wynne Jones, Treasurer. All catering takings are kept by the society. The pooled money is shared equally at the end of the season.
Yours sincerely
The Trustees
