Volunteers Urgently Needed

Volunteers Urgently Needed

Abermule Community Centre is managed, maintained and cared for by volunteers ensuring a safe and clean venue for 14 affiliated groups, adult education classed, preschool, performances, sports events and private hire.

Our Communtiy Centre is the the busiest Community Venue in Powys with over 70 individual booking per month (club nights, meetings, private hire, sports matches, fund raisers) and ongoing use by our local school and preschool.

We are hoping to recruit volunteers to get involved with both the day to day running of Abermule Communtiy Centre and to support several new exciting projects we are hoping to deliver.

Positions Available

Trustee
We currently have a vacancy for a Trustee to be involved in the ongoing management at Abermule Communtiy Centre. This involves attending a monthly meeting and taking responsibility for key decisions on the management and future development of the centre.

We invite anyone interested in becoming a Trustee to have an informal discussion with one of the exiting trustees and / or attend one of our monthly meetings to see what the role entails.

Major Development Project
As part of our Centre Development Plan we are looking to undertake a major development project starting towards the end of 2019 into 2020. This involves possible club house extension, renovation of the main hall and alterations and upgrades to the existing toilets. We are looking for volunteers to promote Communtiy involvement within this project, ensure that the development delivers on Communtiy needs / requirements and to assist in the bid writing / grant application process.

Communtiy Recycling Initiative
The project hopes to address the shortfalls in Powys County Council curb side collections (soft plastics, cigarette butts etc) whilst benefitting local Communtiy groups financially. We are looking for volunteers to manage and co-ordinate this cross community venture.

Abermule Broadcasting Channel
This is an exiting project which will provide a platform to stream live content and recorded programmes via our website. The channel will broadcast local information, public interest media, and special programmes. We are looking at content providers to add to our programme schedule. Would you like to promote your group? Do you have an interest you wish to share? Please get in touch, technical advise and support is available for any interested party.

General Volunteers
If you have a few hours to donate to Abermule Communtiy please get in touch. We are always in need of people to take on small projects on an ongoing or one off basis. Such as painting, litter picking, cleaning, safety checks, odd jobs, gardening, developing our website and facebook pages, admin etc.

If you are able to support your centre with any of the above, please get in touch via facebook, e-mail info@abermule.cymru or phone 01686505103.
